Gutter Capital · the Elbow Grease II site and Gutter Bot
This policy covers the Google app called Gutter Capital, run by Gutter Capital for the people who work at its office, 221 Canal Street, New York. It is used to sign in to the Elbow Grease II site (eg-ii.gutter.cc) and to connect a Google Calendar to Gutter Bot, the office assistant. See what the app does.
Signing in to the Elbow Grease II site
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. We use them only to check that you have access, to show who booked a session, and to send you calendar invites for sessions you book. We keep a record of sign-ins, bookings and questions asked to the site's assistant so we can run the programme.
Gutter Bot and your Google Calendar
If you work at 221 Canal, you can connect your Google Calendar to Gutter Bot so it can book conference rooms for you. When you connect, we receive your Google account's email address and permission to view and edit events on your calendars (the Google Calendar calendar.events scope).
Gutter Bot uses that permission only when you ask it to, in a conversation with it: to create a meeting with a conference room on your calendar, to add a room or guests to a meeting you organized, to move, rename or cancel such a meeting, and to list your events on a day you ask about so it can find the meeting you mean. It does not read, copy or change your calendar for any other reason. Event details it reads are used to answer you in that conversation and are not stored, apart from the record we keep of each question and Gutter Bot's answer.
We store the access token Google issues, encrypted, so Gutter Bot can act on later requests. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, do not use it to train AI models, and do not let people read it except with your permission, for security, or to comply with law. Event details in your request are processed by Anthropic, the AI service that runs Gutter Bot, solely to answer you. Gutter Bot's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
To disconnect, remove the app at myaccount.google.com/connections or email us; we then delete the stored token.
Sharing and your choices
We do not sell your information or share it outside Gutter Capital, except with the services that run these tools (Google, Vercel, Slack and Anthropic) as needed to operate them.
To ask about or remove your information, email carli@gutter.cc.
